Make Your Very Own Christmas Tree for Beginners

1. Make three conical shapes, two green and one brown. Ensure the brown one is bigger than the rest and they are filled in until their bases are flat.

2. Poke each lower cone's tips into the base of the cone above as shown in the picture. You have finished the main body of the tree.

3. Make a slightly loose 2D circle using yellow wool for your star, with the relative looseness of the wool allowing you to tug it in five different directions. Start by tugging out opposite pairs of the star's arms to make sure it doesn't lean over too much. When it's completed, felt the tree into the star by inserting the very top of the tree into the star on each side.

4. Roll little strands from coloured wool of your choice, rubbing them between your fingers until they tangle into tiny balls. Ensure they are tangled enough so they can retain their shape, poking them into a more solid form where needed with your felting pen. At the same time, allow for looseness on their edges so that the fuzz can be poked into the tree. Attach as desired.
